Supply Chain Manager – Job Description

As our business grows, activities in the supply chain increase significantly. You will manage a Supply Chain from sourcing to planning to logistics to the customer order desk. We are a small team with a logistics/transport specialist, an operational buyer, and the COO also doing several of the strategic parts of the Supply Chain. Our supply chain is outsourced, which means very close cooperation with suppliers and our design team. We source; electronics components, electronics manufacturing, electrical cabinet and automation, stainless steel welding (pipes and cabinets), machine components, and machine manufacturing.

You will;

• Lead planning work in Sales and Operations Planning where we agree on the forecast, early sourcing, risk buy, etc, by calling the right stakeholders (CEO, Head of Sales, CFO, CTO, etc) to this session. You will lead this for one or two product areas.
• Support development projects with the sourcing of suppliers and manufacturers.
• Help set sourcing strategy i.e. what supplier to keep or replace or develop.
• Drive RFQ work and negotiate agreements with suppliers.
• Help develop processes and practices with Supply Chain.
• Analysis of product cost, stock, and price development.
• Drive development of our ERP system
• Manage inventory; check-in, check-out, stocktaking, etc. 

We are a small company with ambitions to grow significantly. You will take part in shaping how we work and help build a company set up for growth. You must like this type of challenge and thrive in a company culture where change is the norm and the pace is fast. This is a senior position within Supply Chain without responsibility for staff. However, for the right person, this position could develop into a managerial position.

Qualifications                                        

You have an education on a master’s level in a relevant field and a few years of relevant experience. Or several years of relevant experience with a proven track record.

• Interest in and a good understanding of complex technical systems and how design impact sourcing and vice versa.
• Understanding of Supply Chain mechanisms such as forecast, flexibility, outsourced manufacturing, supplier-managed inventory, strategic sourcing, category management,
• Good understanding of trade law and negotiations
• Good understanding of financial statements and KPIs to access suppliers’ financial viability.
