OptiCept Inaugurates New Innovation Center in Thailand

OptiCept Technologies inaugurated an innovation center at Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand. The center will be equipped with OptiCept’s PEF (Pulsed Electric Field) and VI (Vacuum Impregnation) technology for development and research within the food industry in Southeast Asia. Saab is also a sponsor of the innovation center.

On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Thammasat University, one of Asia’s most distinguished academic institutions, celebrated the inauguration of its new innovation center in Bangkok, Thailand. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to propel technological progress and stimulate collaboration between academia and industry, with a special focus on fostering innovation and economic development across Thailand and Southeast Asia.

The innovation center will serve as a hub for research and development, targeting advancements primarily within the food sector—a strategic area aligned with OptiCept’s core expertise in productivity-enhancing technology. With the global food industry facing significant challenges related to efficiency, sustainability, and food security, the center aims to drive impactful solutions that address these issues through cutting-edge research, testing, and collaboration.

OptiCept, known for its pioneering Technologie PEF in food preservation and quality enhancement, will play a crucial role within the center. The company will bring clients to the facility for demonstrations and hands-on testing, showcasing how their innovations can optimize food production and processing. This will not only highlight the practical applications of their technology but will also allow customers to witness firsthand the potential improvements in quality, yield, and operational efficiency that these solutions can deliver.

Through this initiative, Thammasat University and OptiCept aim to create a vibrant ecosystem that encourages knowledge sharing, skill development, and the commercialization of technology, ultimately contributing to Thailand’s position as a regional leader in innovation and sustainable growth. Furthermore, Saab is a sponsor of the innovation center.

“We have identified Thailand and Southeast Asia as strategically important markets for OptiCept, not least through the memorandum of understanding we signed with Saab. We are very proud of the opening of the innovation center. In addition to strengthening OptiCept’s local position, we are also strengthening the ties between Sweden and Thailand.”
